KUEK ENG MONG
40 years ago, a M&E engineering graduate from National Cheng Gong University (Taiwan) began his entrepreneurial journey in Sarawak. Mr Kuek Eng Mong was 29 when he founded Group Engineers Malaysia Sdn Bhd, focusing mainly on M&E contracts for centralized air conditioning systems for high rise buildings.
Group Engineers Malaysia has achieved many milestones under Mr Kuek’s leadership. In 1990, it began venturing into the water infrastructure projects. Now it is a UPK Class A Contractor, specializing in design and construction of complete water and waste water treatment plants, pumping systems and large-scale industrial cooling systems.
Group Engineers Malaysia has completed quality management certification in 2019 and is now an ISO 9001:2015 certified company.
Mr Kuek strongly believes in importance of education in giving back to society. As chairman of the SMK Kuching High School Rebuilding Committee, he helped to raised RM8 Million to rebuilt the damaged school block in 2008.
As the President of the Sarawak Taiwan Graduate Association, he has also assisted many students to pursue their tertiary education in Taiwan.
